Parent Training

Evidence-based parent training for families with children and adolescents in Munich (HeilprG)

*All services are provided on a self-pay basis.

The parent training program provides structured, professionally grounded support for parents and legal guardians who wish to support their children more confidently, empathetically, and effectively in everyday life. It is designed for families of children and adolescents with developmental, behavioral, and emotional difficulties. The aim of the parent training is to convey clarity, orientation, and practical skills that can be implemented sustainably in daily family life. The work is practice-oriented, individually tailored, and based on evidence-based developmental and behavioral psychological approaches.

Approach and Method of Work

The parent training is based on a careful, assessment-driven evaluation of the current family situation, the child’s needs, and existing resources. Building on this, realistic goals are defined together with the parents, and practical, everyday strategies are developed. A central component is hands-on guidance in concrete daily situations. Parents learn to better understand their child’s behavior, respond appropriately, and consciously build and stabilize supportive interactions.

Parent Training in Everyday Family Life

The parent training is closely aligned with everyday life and focused on practical implementation. The strategies taught are jointly reflected upon, adapted, and gradually integrated into daily family routines. The goal is to enable sustainable change—not only in the therapy setting, but where development takes place every day.

Aims of the Parent Training

The aim of the parent training is to support parents in better understanding their child, gaining confidence in managing challenging situations, and fostering positive development in the long term. At the same time, parental stress is reduced and family relationships are strengthened.
