Psychotherapy for Children and Adolescents
Evidence-based psychotherapeutic support in Munich (HeilprG)
*All services are provided on a self-pay basis.
Psychotherapy for children and adolescents provides a protected, professional setting to support emotional, psychological, and behavioral challenges during childhood and adolescence. It is intended for young people who require support in their development, emotional experience, or behavior. Therapeutic work is individualized, age- and developmentally appropriate, and professionally grounded, and is tailored to the needs of the child or adolescent. The foundation is a careful, assessment-based evaluation of the child’s or adolescent’s current life and developmental situation.
Therapeutic Approach
Psychotherapeutic work is guided by evidence-based cognitive-behavioral methods as well as additional psychotherapeutic approaches, flexibly adapted to age, developmental level, and individual needs. The focus lies on understanding emotional processes, strengthening self-regulation, and developing coping strategies relevant to everyday life. The therapeutic process is structured, transparent, and resource-oriented. Goals are defined collaboratively and reviewed regularly to support sustainable development.
Involvement of Parents and Caregivers
Depending on age and presenting concerns, parents or caregivers are involved in the therapeutic process. The aim is to develop a deeper understanding of the child’s or adolescent’s emotional and psychological needs and to work out helpful strategies for everyday family life. Parent work is supportive, consultative, and resource-oriented.
Aims of Psychotherapy
The aim of psychotherapy is to promote emotional stability, reduce psychological distress, and support the healthy development of children and adolescents. Therapy helps young people to better understand their emotions, contextualize their behavior, and develop constructive solutions for everyday life.
